The Spec-D Drift Series is the first series that I received an official media pass for. Drifting has always been a passion of mine as far back as I can remember. Starting pretty closely with watching the first four "Fast and Furious" movies as a kid. Growing up with that, I started playing racing games on my consoles and would always do anything I could to drift in those games because of how cool it always looked. Getting into college, I scrolled across some videos of drifting competitions. Formula Drift and Drift Masters. I was even more hooked onto the sport from there. Similar to rally, it's a "full send, or no send" type sport. To have the best lap, or the best time, you have to drive the course in it's completeness with precision and style.

In my photography career, I first had a chance to visit an open track day in Jackson, Michigan with the Mid Michigan Drift Club in 2022. I showed up at the start of the event time and asked about media credentials, and though those were supposed to be filled out weeks prior, they made an exception and the media lead helped show me the ropes of shooting trackside. Later that day, he also helped teach me some shooting techniques that led to one of my favorite pictures I've taken to date.

This shot of an RX-7 FD that I got of one of the drivers practicing for competition at Rad Torque Raceway for Round 1 of the Spec-D Drift Series. I'm looking forward to the shots I'll be able to get at the next round at Stratotech Park.
